Young
Players, clubs and parents are advised about a scam that the FA has
recently been made aware of. Persons reporting to be licensed agents are
sending emails promising trials with various clubs, using details from
the list of licensed agents on the FIFA website
www.fifa.com. The clubs themselves have
no knowledge of these trials.
The Scam
Appears to work by promising trials to young players with various clubs
and then ask for payment in advance to cover insurance and travel. Once
the money is sent no more is heard. Anyone who has become a victim of
this scam should contact their local police.
We do not
wish to cause any alarm but it is important this message reaches the
players and parents being targeted.
Spartac FC was founded in 1979 and is one of the largest football clubs
in the Medway area and is affiliated to the Kent County Football Association.
We run football teams for children from the age of under 8 to under 18's.
This season sees us with more teams and more players than ever before
as the club continues to grow. We currently have 7 teams competing in 6 age
groups in the Medway News Youth League. All team managers are F.A.qualified
and have been through both first aid and child protection workshops.
Our Aims as a Club:
We aim to provide a fun and safe environment for children of all ages,
varying skills and ability to play and enjoy the game of football. Our
range of weekly training and matches providing the steps needed to hopefully
give the children enough knowledge and understanding of the game to reach a
reasonable level, as well as providing them with regular much needed
physical exercise.
Committed People:
As with most clubs Spartac FC can only continue to survive due to the
hard and loyal work done by a group of committed people who give up their
spare time to help children enjoy the game of football.
