I approached Spartac FC
four years ago to set up an U10’s team as they had no team in this age
group, I soon became the manager. I started with five boys at my first
training session and within a couple of months I had a squad of 16
players. We did not get into the league our first season due to
bureaucracy, we then worked hard and played friendlies for the rest of
the season. At U11s we entered the league in Division 3 of the Medway
News Youth League we had a great first season finishing runners up
losing only one game all season and scoring over 150 goals along the
way. We got promotion to Div 2 and had another good season finishing
joint runners up and cup finalist. This season in Div 1 we have a great
squad with five original players still with me, and ended the season
finishing third, we also reached the third round of the Kent Cup. I
have a great squad of boys who I really enjoy training and taking to
matches, they are always eager to learn and a pleasure to coach. This
along with a good bunch of parents makes it a very enjoyable hobby.
